Description:
The course focuses on Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communication (URRL) and its role in future high-speed networks and the Internet. More specifically, the course discusses the role of URLLC in important networking applications (AR/VR, tele-medicine, autonomous driving, etc) and the key specifications and requirements. Then, it analyzes the networking mechanisms involved in achieving URLLC and presents state-of-the-art technologies towards URLLC with a special emphasis on Network Coding (NC). Summarizing, the course consists of the following sections:
- The URLLC specification and its requirements
- URLLC enabled applications
- URLLC and network design
- Networking technologies towards URLLC – Network Coding (NC)
- Principles of Network Coding
- Coding and NC as FEC mechanisms towards URLLC
- NC based mechanisms for URLLC
- NC and MAC
